Four beaches, different access points
Központi strand is a two-minute walk from Balatonszepezd railway station and bus stop. It has water sports equipment and several ways to access the water, including a ramp for people with reduced mobility, a diving platform and a bathing pier. Free parking is available; there are two buffets on the beach grounds, and a restaurant is located at the entrance.
From Révfülöp, you can reach Szepezdfürdői strand via the first gated railway crossing with lights. The beach has a sand playground, a sports ground and a fitness park. You will find the same three facilities—a sand playground, sports ground and fitness park—at Viriusi strand as well. Its access point is opposite Üdülő utca, down a flight of stairs. Rákóczi Fürdőegyesületi szabad strand is on the western side of Balatonszepezd. Along with the other beaches, it is one of the four local options for a day by the water. If you have a particular access point or facility in mind, you can choose a beach based on these specific differences rather than its name alone.
Church, local history and events
The Church of St Andrew was already standing in 1288. Its white tower once served as a landmark for fishermen and still guides sailors home today. The Helytörténeti Gyűjtemény (local history collection) is also located in the centre of Balatonszepezd. The completed Panoráma sétány is another local landmark.
Two long-standing festivals are part of local event life. Halászlé-Főzőverseny is a traditional event held in Balatonszepezd for many years. In 2025, it was organised by the municipality and the Balatonszepezdi Arany Horog Horgász Egyesület. In 2025, Zsíroskenyér Party was held for the 32nd time on the grounds of Csónakház és Szabadtéri Színpad. If either festival is important to your travel plans, check the specific date before booking.

Beyond Balatonszepezd, the wider Lake Balaton - North region offers a range of themes to consider when planning your holiday. Boat trips are available at Tapolcai-tavasbarlang, which also has the guided exhibition “Csodálatos karszt” (“Wonderful Karst”). The cave is part of a cave system beneath the town, whose explored length currently measures 14.6 kilometres.
Hegyestű, a 337-metre-high mountain between Zánka and Monoszló, offers a different perspective on the landscape: its inner face reveals a basalt volcano that was active about 8 million years ago. At the western edge of the quarry grounds, visitors can use a panoramic information board to identify the surrounding hills; there is also a rock garden featuring characteristic rock types from Transdanubia. Badacsony, meanwhile, combines hiking trails and panoramas for walkers with its basalt organ pipes and vineyards on the slopes. Badacsony wine is made from the area's distinctive grapes.
