Hegyestű exposes the interior of a basalt volcano that was active around 8 million years ago. Hegyestű also has a rock garden featuring characteristic rock types from Transdanubia, the western half of Hungary. These landscape features belong to the wider regional setting and are not features of Zánka’s beach or trails.
