Fishing heritage at several memorial sites

The Szent Mihály Fogadalmi Halászkápolna stands on the 136-metre-high Szent Mihály-domb. It commemorates the rescue of 40 ice fishers. Another memorial site is the 40 halász emlékhely, where a relief by ceramic artist János Németh depicts the story of the rescued fishers. Together, the two sites connect the fishing theme both to the hill and to a distinctive artistic form.

The Érték vagy! Park and Halászkert offers another perspective on fishing on Lake Balaton. An interactive attraction about the history of fishing is housed in Süllő II, a fishing boat converted into an exhibition space. It opened in 2026.
