Church history and a medieval gravestone

The history of the Church of St. Anne spans several periods: in 1754, it was rebuilt from its ruins and consecrated to St. Anne in the same year. In 1806, Bishop Nedeczky Károly had the church remodelled in the Classical style. The church also contains a Gothic gravestone made of red marble, dating from 1400 and decorated with the carved coat of arms of the Tomaj family. According to the inscription, it belonged to Pál, son of Jakab.

This gives the history of the village a span from the medieval gravestone to the renovations of the 18th and 19th centuries. Visitors interested in architectural history will find specific dates and a named historical detail here, rather than just a general description of the village.

The old park and the mealy primrose habitat

Another natural attraction is the Lesencetomaji láprét, a habitat for the strictly protected mealy primrose (Primula farinosa).
